Schule+Velo is the platform for all cycling activities available for schools in Switzerland. It allows teachers who are interested in cycling to get a good overview of current programs and activities on offer so they can find the right one to suit their needs and the needs of their students. The Schule+Velo Alliance (see below) provides tips on how to make schools more bike-friendly and motivate students to cycle to and from school.
The platform is intended especially for teachers, schools, and local authorities that want to promote the integration of cycling into everyday school life. Activities on offer are geared to children and young people from the ages of 6 to 20 and are tailored to each age group and level of experience.

The goal of Schule+Velo is to make the bicycle a permanent part of the school day and to keep it that way.
The many attractive programs on offer as well as the opportunities to collaborate with experts support teachers in their attempt to actively promote cycling in schools. As a result, by the end of their time in school, children and young people enjoy riding their bikes and are trained to be safe and road users.

The goal of Schule+Velo is to increase the proportion of children and young people who ride bikes. In the medium to long term, this will also have an impact on their attitude toward mobility in adulthood. As a result of bicycle promotion in schools, there is a sustainable shift towards the bicycle as the preferred means of transport. In addition, proper training contributes to increased safety in traffic.

Under the leadership of Pro Velo Switzerland and Swiss Cycling, and with the support of SwissEnergy, more than 20 program providers, associations and private and public institutions have joined together to form the Schule+Velo Alliance. They are actively engaged in schools, in promoting bicycles and traffic safety, promoting exercise and health, and sustainable mobility. Together, they operate the platform

The following organizations are represented in the Alliance:
Pro Velo Switzerland, Swiss Cycling, the Working Group of Traffic Police Chiefs in Switzerland and Liechtenstein (ACVS), the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU), éducation 21, Health Promotion Switzerland, the RADIX Swiss Health Foundation for healthy schools, the Schtifti Foundation, the association of school leadership in Switzerland (VSLCH) , the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Federal Office of Sport (FOSPO), the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO).
